With many open fields in Dawson county, two areas are open for bringing your horse for ride through North Georgia.  Clip-clop through Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area, a nearly 24,000-acre tract that encompasses the 10,000-acre Dawson Forest. Ready for another great place for you and your horse to explore?   Fausett Farms Horse Trails are located along Highway 183 in the heart of beautiful Dawson County, Georgia, 2 miles south of Amicolola Falls State Park at the intersection of Elliott Family Parkway (Hwy 183) and Burnt Mountain Road (Hwy 136) with views of Amicolola Falls, Burnt Mountain, Burt's Pumpkin Farm, Fausett's Lake and beautiful mountain streams. The trails cut through 850 acres in the foothills of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. The property is privately owned and operated by the Fausett family. Sections of this property have been in the Fausett family since 1858. The Fausett Family cut and marked 3 different trails in the spring of 2013 to share the beauty of their property with you. The trail ranges in distance and terrain to meet any time frame or skill level.  Open 7 days a week.  $10 per horse per day. Primitive camping is available.
